Our little boy is 18 months old!

It is so hard to believe that Jacob just turned 18 months! WOW....where has the time gone?!?! He is weighing in at exactly 22 pounds and 31.5 inches tall. He continues to hang in at the 10th percentile for his age....but Brian and I aren't exactly large people, so why should he be?

Even more startling is that in about a month he will be a BIG Brother! Jacob has grown up so much in the last 3 or 4 months. His vocabulary has expanded from his first word starting at 14 1/2 months to over 100 words...I have lost count. Everyday he has a new word. He reminds us to say our prayers when we sit down to eat by saying..Amen. He chatters all the time! Gee I wonder where he got that from? His new expression this week is "Whoa". He knows a lot of his animals and many different types of trucks like cement mixers, bulldozers, fuel trucks, buses, tractors, garbage trucks, etc. He points everything out as we drive and gives me a full account of everything he sees!

The first picture was taken the other day. I put my baby doll in the baby's room to get him used to seeing a baby and he decided that he needed to rock her, kiss her and hug her. Last weekend, we all went to the pumpkin patch and Jacob absolutely LOVED the hay rack ride with the tractor! The last picture is displaying my large belly that also serves as a shelf for Jacob...I don't even have to hold on to him! He points to my belly and says "Baby" but he has no idea how much that little baby is going to rock his world.

Jacob and Alayna

I wanted to post a picture of the little girl I have been watching for the last 8 months. Alayna will be 9 months next week and she and Jacob are finally starting to play together, well parallel at least! Jacob has a hard time sharing his toys sometimes and Alayna just doesn't understand why!?!? ;-) I watch Alayna on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings and it has been wonderful practice for getting ready for 2 kids! 2 kids will seem like a piece of cake when I have the three of them to take care of! Alayna has been a lot of fun and I have enjoyed watching her little personality develop. She and Jacob can make each other laugh in a way that I cannot! She is crawling all over the place and trying desperately to pull up! She and Jacob love our morning wagon walks! Although they are 9 months apart, they wear the same size diapers and almost the same size clothes....makes Jacob look like a little runt! ;-)

Baby Sadowski's Nursery

The baby's nursery is now complete! We have assembled all of the furniture and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of this baby! It has been so much fun for me pulling out some of Jacob's old stuff, saving some that will forever be his because I can't imagine another child wrapped in a certain blanket or wearing a particular outfit. We had a diaper shower last month and are stocked with diapers. Next month, one of the bible studies I am in is throwing a shower for myself and two other girls! Once the baby comes, we will have a "Meet N Greet" in early December for everyone to meet him or her. I moved all of Jacob's Winnie the Pooh stuff into this nursery. The walls were already painted green, so that was easy! It is very simple and once the baby is born, we will hang letters of the child's name above the crib! 5 Weeks to go and hopefully not much sooner...this little one isn't done cooking yet! ;-)

September - Pony Party

The last weekend of September, one of my friends hired ponies for her son's second birthday party. The minute we pulled up and Jacob saw the ponies...he started making a horsie noise...he was very hesitant at first but with some coercion, he rode the pony and seemed to enjoy it! Of course, the cupcake was the best part! ;-)

September 2008 - Trip to Iowa

In the middle of September, Jacob and I took our last trip to Iowa to visit Nana and Papa! The highlight of the trip for Jacob was the mower and Emma (Aaron's dog). We were able to go the Omaha Zoo one day and Jacob really enjoyed the penguins, giraffes and the carousel ride. We also made a trip to Sioux City to visit Great Grandma Shirley where Jacob ferociously ate Great Grandma's delicious apple sauce! He enjoyed the cows and a trip to the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Museum! He spent many a mornings and afternoon sitting in Nana and Papa's cabinet eating cheerios.....similar to what his mom used to do! ;-)

September 2008

September was a fun month. It started with a diaper shower for mommy and daddy. Jacob got a new Winnie the Pooh Chair that he uses while reading! His vocabulary has expanded exponentially....at least 50 words! His new favorite activity is going to the park. Now that the weather is starting to cool (90's), we can enjoy our time outside and he loves climbing and going down the slides at the park! He loves his wagon rides as well....thanks Nana and Papa!

August 2008

It is hard to believe that Jacob turned 16 months! Where has the time gone? This month our big accomplishment was getting rid of the sippy cup!!! Yeah! Jacob drinks out of a big boy cup and does so with few spills, even the pediatrician was impressed! Yes, there are more accidents, but it is better for his teeth! This month, we took a few trips to the pool and even tried the splash park, however Jacob was pretty afraid of the water coming out of the ground. I must say, I never knew a child could dislike water as much as Jacob, even bath times can be a nightmare, just ask poor Brian! Although they get to do their bonding time at the park. Jacob caught a parasite in Costa Rica and we having been dealing with about 6 weeks of diarhea, so hopefully that will clear soon! We took a trip to the Waco Zoo where he got to hang with some older boys and just loved being around all of them! He is at a great age where he really enjoys activities like that!
