Baby Caleb

I always wondered how you could love a second child as much as your first...but I now know that God gives up enough love in our hearts for all our children! I take such joy in watching the two boys develop and Caleb has been just as exciting as Jacob....just different when you are chasing a toddler and trying to take a cute picture at the same time!

Caleb resembles Jacob so much it is almost like Deja Vu'.

Happy Baby Boy!

Nana and Papa come to visit

My parents came to visit on 2/18/09 until 2/22/09. We had a great visit and really enjoyed seeing them. Aaron was able to come up for a couple of days as well! While the house was crowded, Jacob had a great time with his Nana and Papa!!! He got his birthday present early....a sandbox! He loves playing in it every day!

This picture of them reading to the boys is absolutely precious! I know why I have such a strong desire to read. I am so thankful to pass that along to Jacob and Caleb!

Caleb is 3 Months Old!

Caleb is now 3 months old! He weighed in at exactly 14 pounds and has developed quite the thigh rolls...see below! I have given him the nickname "Smiles" because that is exactly what he does all the time and so easily! He started giggling a few weeks ago and is such a joy! Even when he breastfeeds, he pulls off intermittently and won't go back to eating until I smile back at him...I absolutely adore those bonding moments!

WOW!!! Those are some rolls! Diet?? Pure Breastmilk!

Happy Baby Boy!

Jacob's newest toy!

Jacob recently got a ball pit shaped like a coupe car. I still watch Alayna on Fri mornings and the two of them really enjoyed jumping in and out of the pit! I was just happy he was sharing his new toy! He continues to ask me if Caleb can get in, but that will come all too soon!

The Children's Museum

On the 13th....we drove to San Antonio for the Rodeo and Goo Goo Dolls concert and got home around 2:45am that same night. We all slept in until about 9am and then headed to Waco for a great Children's museum. Brian had never been and it had been about a year since I had taken Jacob! We had a blast...see below!

Jacob and Daddy playing with the trains...one of Jacob's favorite things to do!

My Little Cowboy!

Jacob driving Caleb and Mommy to school! Jacob loves school buses! Whenever he sees one, he always asks me if he can ride it! ;-)

That evening...Caleb found his hands!

Needless to say, a Valentine's Day with 2 small children is far from romantic, but we created some GREAT memories!

The San Antonio Rodeo

For the second year, we headed down to San Antonio for one of the best indoor rodeos in the country! Jacob loved the animals, although he had a rather terrifying experience with an oversized cow tongue! It may have scarred him for life! Afterwards, we got to see the Goo Goo Dolls perform...what an awesome concert! They really are good performers. The best part of the experience was that we were able to meet up with my brother, Aaron just South of Austin! I think after that trip, we have forever scarred him and ruined any desire he had to have kids someday! His comment was "I can see why you don't get out much!".

The Simple Moments in Life

The simple moments in life are the most pure and special and yet without pics, they can be easily forgotten! Or maybe that is just me...after being either pregnant or breastfeeding for almost 3 years straight...some days I really do think I have lost my mind! We are enjoying life with the boys! I especially have enjoyed watching Jacob grow up these last 2 1/2 months and see him turn into an older brother! He is fascinated with Caleb and feels obligated to ensure that Caleb's Binky is in his little brother's mouth at all times! He loves to kiss him on the head and share his toys and snacks with him. About a month ago, he nearly killed Caleb with a Graham Cracker stick. I walked around the corner and there he was shoving it down his throat and poor Caleb was choking...that is why I never leave them alone for more than a few seconds!

Jacob decided that he needed to eat breakfast with Blue Bear...a stuffed bear my parents gave to Jacob at his birth. Even more so, Blue Bear needed to eat blueberries, Jacob's favorite fruit!

Cooking with Jacob

Jacob and I have started to do more cooking together! He is very interested in the process and of course, the best part is tasting the product! He loves muffins, so here we are making blueberry muffins! I have waited so long for moments like these and I know they will only continue to get better! Meanwhile....Caleb lounges in the bouncer! ;-)
