Caleb 2 months old

Caleb smiling!

Caleb hanging out under his play gym!

This is one of the looks that just melts my mommy's heart! ;-)

Caleb at 2 months! What a CHUNKER....already 12 pounds 13 ounces! ;-)

One Cool Dude!!! Jacob loves to wear his sunglasses......
he has very sensitive blue eyes like his mommy!

Wow!!!! Where has the time gone? Jacob just turned 21 months and now Caleb is already 2 months old! He is smiling all the time and a very happy baby...I didn't know babies could be this good! If only I could get him sleeping longer at night. The last couple of nights, he decided he missed his mommy about every 90 minutes....forgot how rough that is. I swear the only reason we have more children is because God somehow helps us to forget how rough these early months are...joyous, but trying!

Jacob is doing very well! He has adjusted so well to Caleb. He loves to give him hugs and kisses but I stay very close to ward off the occasional random swing at Caleb. I cannot imagine why Jacob does this or where he learned it from. I am told that positive redirection is the most effective way to deal with this, but I keep wondering when it will sink into Jacob's head! Hopefully soon for Caleb's sake!

Jacob is talking more and more, I swear he learns several new words every day. One word he loves to say is "Eyebrows". He points out the eyebrows on Pooh every chance he gets! He has also started a very elementary form of imaginative play. The other day we pretended to take Pooh to the park where Jacob and Pooh played with rocks...of course! Jacob loves to color and does really well all by himself. He LOVES play dough. Daddy taught him how to smash the snowman that he makes for him....poor kid doesn't have a clue what a snowman is with these 70 degree Texas winter days! That's okay....we have really enjoyed going to the park and on walks most days, realizing that will come to an end in a couple of years when we head back north!

Every day that I wake up and look at my 2 beautiful babies, I am reminded of God's AWESOME love for us! I am not sure what Brian and I did to deserve these two boys, but I am so thankful and grateful to Him. Nothing that I do would be possible without His love and guidance. I pray each day that I live my life according to His will and know that he will provide me with everything I need for those tasks...whatever they may be! My babies have given me a glimpse at how much God loves me and an understanding that He will walk with us along the way and will always be there for us! What an awesome responsibility He has given me!

The Doctor who brought my boys into the world

I went in for my post-partum visit last week and took a picture of Caleb with Dr. Fothergill, who has cared for me for the past 3 and a half years! I first met Dr. Fothergill when I needed just my annual check up and he discussed with me in great length everything I needed to know before we got pregnant. He helped me through our difficulties before getting pregnant with Jacob and then has since cared for me through both pregnancies and delivered both boys! Not only is Dr. Fothergill a great doctor, but he is a very kind and Christian man. When I took the picture of he and Caleb, I couldn't help but notice the effect he has on both my boys....kind of funny that they are both crying! ;-) Regardless, I am forever grateful for everything Dr. Fothergill has done for me!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!! We all celebrated New Year's happily asleep in our beds this year! It seems that sleep around here, except for Jacob, is a premium. Jacob gets his 12 1/2 hours at night (7pm to 7:30am) and then a nap each day for 3 - 3 1/2 hours (12:30pm to 3:30 or 4pm)....for a total of 15 - 16 hours of sleep each day...lucky dog! Brian gets fairly good sleep...at least he doesn't have to get up with Caleb, but he is up and out of the house by 5:30 am at the latest every morning. That leaves Caleb and I......lets just say that up until 2 days ago, we were getting up every 2 hours. Now it is being pushed back to every 3 hours some nights! ;-) What can I say....we like to eat and watch TV at ALL hours of the night!

Matching Brothers! Caleb looks scared to death...like "Oh Mom...please don't leave me with Jacob! Have you seen how rough my big brother is?? I may not make it out alive!"
Jacob helping Daddy wash Caleb's hair. We really try to give Jacob ownership of his little brother and make him feel like he is an integral part of taking care of Caleb. It seems to ward off some jealousy if he feels involved!

We just recently started doing tummy time and Caleb does great with it. Unlike Jacob who tolerated it for 30 seconds at best, Caleb seems very content no matter what he is doing! I hope that bodes well for what is to come!

Mommy and Caleb enjoying some time together while Jacob naps!

"See Mom....I can REALLY hold it up!"
